First let us seperate Astrology and the zodiac from newspaper and magazine horoscopes.  A horoscope is an atempt to read the planets and constellations and then forcast a monthly or daily horoscope; your lucky days, love habits, when is it okay to ask your boss for a raise, when not the cross the street when wearing red shoes.  Okay, I stretched it a bit to make a point.  It is very very difficult for a magazine or newpaper astrologer or computer software program to forcast the future.  There are simply to many variables to consider.  That being said, a horoscope doesn't make the zodiac untrue.  The zodiac and the influence of planetary objects on our Energy Point Centers (Chakras) is a profound secret and noble science that has been apart of the human oversoul and conscious for thousands of years.  Enoch called the 12 divisions "gates" ( periods of time the sun travels thru).  The Greeks called the zodiac the "circle of life."  The entrance of the sun and planets into each constellations (zone of the heavens or months), brings with it a different cosmic force.   Not simply for individual lives, but for the human race.  In actual fact, genuine archaic astrology was one of the  branches of the ancient Mysteries, and was studied to perfection in the ancient Mysteries schools. We cannot pinpoint any marker in time when astrology was formulated.  Perhaps there was simply an evolution of awareness when one borne in a certain house, gate, month, seemed to be alike in character.   If this was discovered during the days of lemuria, or later in the Atlantis period, it was surely revived after the doors to the heavenly stars was once again opened, for the stars could not be viewed for hundreds of years after the last poleshift and near destruction of our planet.
