Valx has added  decades of ancient Mexico interest, months of research and days of design and imagination, together, and has reconstructed the Maya 20 day glyphs and the Maya 19 month glyphs.

Above each glyph is the month or day number.   And below each  glyph is the month or day Maya name.

The Olmecs (Mayans) used several calendars.  This is the 365 day solar calendar.  The first 18 months had 20 days and the last month (Uayeb) had 5 days.

All the glyphs are creatively shown on this beautiful poster professionally printed either on paper in several sizes of your choice at Zazzle.  Or, on canvas, matted and framed with museum quality at ArtSlant.

DATES IN PERPETUAL DISPUTE?

There seems to be little agreement on an accurate conversion of Maya days to today or tomorrow.  And, if the Mayan calendar is to end, then a conversion is of little value.  We hope this justifies the placement of the first Maya day called Pop Imix on the 4th of April, 2010.  This causes January 1 2011 to be Kankin Ben.  How Valx made this calculation will have to remain a mystery.

Valx has ingeniously meshed the Maya 365 day solar calendar, with the Gregorian calendar we use today.  The Maya word for year is Kin.    Therefore, Valx calls this the GregKin Calendar.

Below shows low-res images of the top of the calendar for January, February,  March and April.   The bottom of the calendar is a traditional, day, week, holiday calendar for 2011 printed by Zazzle.  To view more click the  link   Buy Calendar At Zazzle   above.

WHAT ABOUT DOOMSDAY ?

Belief in the 1999 end of the world is similar to the Maya calendar end of the world.   Are we not still here?
