PAWS (Pet Animal Welfare Society)PAWS is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1962 to rescue homeless dogs & place them in permanent homes. In the 1980s, our rescue efforts were expanded to include cats. PAWS rescues & rehomes approximately 115 dogs & 435 cats annually. We also work to reduce pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs. Many of the dogs faced euthanasia at pounds & most of the cats that we help are strays. Some of the pets that come to PAWS have been given up by their owners who are no longer able to care for them.
